We understand to effectively accomplish our life changing mission GOYA must steward all donations effectively and with the highest integrity. As a not-for-profit ministry, we are committed to providing financial accountability and transparency through the following measures.
We periodically publish a report that highlights the impact GOYA is making in Kenya through the contributions of our supporters and donors.
We openly share our financial statements which include a statement of financial activity and a statement of financial position. These reports are available upon request. We undergo occasional external financial reviews by independent CPAs to ensure that our financial statements are accurate and in compliance with accounting standards.
We also submit our annual tax return to the IRS to make it available for to public review. Annual tax returns are available at Pro Publica. Our returns are reviewed by the general public as well as chartity watchdog groups.
We've collaborated with some of the most trusted names in the industry to demonstrate how efficiently we use your donations. Charity watchdog groups like Charity Navigator, GuideStar (now Candid), and the Better Business Bureau all give GOYA Ministries top ratings.

Your confidence in our work is extremely important to us. We’ve established stringent accounting and financial reporting procedures to ensure your gifts have the maximum impact on sponsored children, their families and communities. Your sponsorship contributions are pooled and transferred directly to the field agencies where our expert field staff makes sure they’re used responsibly and efficiently to provide benefits and services tailored to each child.
We’ve developed a thorough system of oversight and control to ensure your donation is spent according to your request. Representatives from GOYA Ministries visit schools, churches, and housing locations in Kenya frequently to perform reviews of facilities and operations. They also visit sponsored children and conduct interviews to ensure they are receiving the benefits and services promised to our sponsors. This information is shared through sponsor update email messages and other periodic communications.
We communicate regularly with our donors to update you on the progress of your sponsored child and/or how your donation is being used. This includes sending pictures, letters, and progress reports.
