Transforming Our 50-Acre Ministry Center in Magadi

Help us bring clean drinking water to a remote Massai area! We have a location that could potentially provide clean drinking water to this community and offer us the opportunity to further our ministry there! We have conducted a thorough water and land survey in order to assess the potential for water below the surface. We are optimistic that we will be able to drill and find water there. This project will come in two phases : $13,040 will allow us to drill a 1000 ft deep and 8” in diameter borehole in a community that has NEVER had fresh clean water. Once we confirm that water is available, we can launch into the second phase! This next phase will cost approx. $9,000 that will include a solar pump, a 3-phase motor, pipes, cables, inverters, cooling sleeve, installation, 400 watt solar module and 3.5m Solar Steel Structure. Once we strike water, we plan to purchase a truck that can help us transport supplies and future crops to and from our headquarters campus and this farm area. A farm truck like this will cost approximately $25,000. This isn’t your usual fundraiser! We are praying that you would partner with us by committing to give AND share this incredible opportunity with your circle of influence! We have 50 acres available to us that could be used for farming and livestock once we have a well drilled. Would you commit to raising the funds: acre by acre? The total amount we need to raise in order to have a working farm is $50,000. So, we need help in raising $1000/acre! Your commitment could be as much as half an acre for $500 OR 5 acres at a total of $5000. Will you partner with us to bring fresh water to a community that has never known such a blessing?

Biogas Conversion Kit

Biogas Conversion Kit

Converting Manure into Gas for Cooking

One of the things we love about working in Kenya is our partners' creativity and ability to utilize resources in a variety of ways to become more self sustainable and 'green'. We see this in the use of solar panels for energy, using milk and eggs from our livestock, reusing materials for infrastructure use, farming the land for meals, and much more. Recently, the bi-product of our cow population has been getting our attention and we are hoping to find a use for it! Biogas is a great resource that can be utilized in our kitchen as well as in our science labs. In order to convert cow waste into usable gas, we need to purchase a conversion kit. It will cost us $1,600 but will immediately save our ministry $300/month as we will no longer need to purchase as much charcoal. Using literal cow pies will generate as much as 80% of the gas needed for cooking meals! Will you partner with us on this green initiative?

3 Tanks and Tower

3 Tanks and Tower

3 - 1,000 liter water tanks for our growing schools

Great news! We are growing! With the addition of the teacher housing buildings, junior high school and continued growth of the farm we need to pump more water. The best way to pump water is on hot, sunny days when our solar panels let us pump it for free. In order to have enough to last until the next sunny days, we plan to build a 3,000 liter tower that will act as the feeder for the other towers. Once these tanks are full, they can can be used to fill our daily use tanks as needed. What a blessing to have this resource for our staff, students and growing farm!

Sewing Fund

Teaching Practical Trades

We are excited to have officially launched our new Home Sciences classroom at our high school! Since this class will require some of its material to be replenished regularly, we are in need of support for items to restock the room in order for our students to continue working on projects throughout the school year. We can source much of what we need in country for a great cost! When you give toward this fund, your donations will go towards items such as fabric, notions, sewing machine belts and other maintenance items, thread, sewing kits, and more. Your support will also make it possible for us to purchase sewing machines that can be operated with a treadle for use in locations where electricity is not reliable. These machines, with the built in table, cost approx. $200 in Nairobi where we will be purchasing them. Thank you so much for making the opportunity possible for our students so that they can graduate with the training and knowledge of such a valuable skill!

South B School Expansion

South B School Expansion

Buying 16 Shacks Beside our School will Allow us to Expand

Our school in the South B slum location has the opportunity to expand its footprint and increase the number of children that we are able to enroll. In order to make this happen, we will need to purchase 16 shacks that neighbor the side of our current building. Each shack will cost $1500 and we are hoping to purchase all of them in order to have the entire footprint on the side of the school. After the shacks are purchased, we can then decide to add classrooms on one level or there could be an option to add additional levels vertically.

50 desks for 50 Jr Highers

Help open our new junior high school.

We need 50 desks to open our new Junior High School in Kenya. Each desk costs around $52 and will help us transform the lives of junior high school students from the slums of Kenya for years to come.
